A free crochet worry worm pattern for a little rainbow-striped worm with a smiling face and a heart on its tail. This amigurumi worm curls into a soft C with a coral-red head, pink cheeks and stripes of orange, yellow, green, blue and purple. It is worked in the round in single crochet with DK yarn and a 2.5 mm hook, in one piece from the head, with 8 mm safety eyes, an embroidered smile and a small flat heart sewn on the tail; it is about 4 cm (1.6 in) tall and 7 cm (3 in) long. The page gives a row-by-row pattern with stitch counts and an interactive 3D model to check every colour change, a pocket-sized friend to hold on a stressful day.

1 sc ≈ 4 mm wide, 1 round ≈ 3.6 mm tall (10 cm ≈ 25 sc × 28 rounds); yarn about 1.9 mm thick. The gauge sets the size of the toy; crochet tightly so the stuffing does not show.
Continuous spiral rounds. Don't join. Move a stitch marker up every round.
Safety eyes and noses go in before the piece is stuffed and closed (see the pieces above); embroidery is easier before the piece is sewn on.
