A free crochet sushi cat pattern that turns a sushi roll into a smiling kitten. This amigurumi sushi roll has a white rice base, a dark green nori band and a salmon pink dome with cat ears, blush cheeks and a little stitched smile, plus tiny white paws and a salmon tail. The whole body is one stuffed piece worked in the round in single crochet with DK yarn and a 2.5 mm hook, about 8.6 cm (3.4 in) tall, with 10 mm safety eyes and the ears, paws and tail sewn on. The page gives a row-by-row pattern with stitch counts and an interactive 3D model so you can check where every piece goes.

1 sc ≈ 4 mm wide, 1 round ≈ 3.6 mm tall (10 cm ≈ 25 sc × 28 rounds); yarn about 1.9 mm thick. The gauge sets the size of the toy; crochet tightly so the stuffing does not show.
Continuous spiral rounds. Don't join. Move a stitch marker up every round.
Safety eyes and noses go in before the piece is stuffed and closed (see the pieces above); embroidery is easier before the piece is sewn on.
