This free crochet sunflower pattern makes a smiling sunflower in a terracotta pot. The amigurumi sunflower has a golden tan face framed by a ring of brown popcorn seeds, two rows of sunny yellow petals, pink cheeks, a green stem with two leaves and a darker rim around brown soil. The pot, stem and flower face are worked in the round in single crochet with DK yarn and a 2.5 mm hook, the 24 petals and leaves are flat motifs sewn on, the eyes are 12 mm safety eyes, and the plant stands about 25 cm (9.5 in) tall. The row-by-row pattern gives stitch counts for every piece, and the interactive 3D model shows where each petal goes.
