A free crochet bear pattern for a cocoa-brown mama bear who sits and hugs her little honey-colored cub on her lap. This amigurumi bear family has tan muzzles, round ears with tan insides and pink cheeks, and the cub has its own head, arms and legs and peeks out from mama's arms. It is worked in the round in single crochet with DK yarn and a 2.5 mm hook and is about 14 cm (5.5 in) tall; the cub is sewn to mama's tummy first and her arms go around it, with safety eyes and embroidered noses. Follow it row by row with stitch counts and turn the interactive 3D model to see how the hug fits together.

1 sc ≈ 4 mm wide, 1 round ≈ 3.6 mm tall (10 cm ≈ 25 sc × 28 rounds); yarn about 1.9 mm thick. The gauge sets the size of the toy; crochet tightly so the stuffing does not show.
Continuous spiral rounds. Don't join. Move a stitch marker up every round.
Safety eyes and noses go in before the piece is stuffed and closed (see the pieces above); embroidery is easier before the piece is sewn on.
