A free crochet dinosaur pattern for a light-green baby dino peeking out of a speckled cream eggshell, with the top of the shell worn as a hat. This amigurumi dinosaur has a round head with a long smiling snout, big eyes on the sides, orange spikes down its head and back, a little tail and tiny arms resting on the zigzag rim. It is worked in the round in single crochet with DK yarn and a 2.5 mm hook and ends up about 10 cm (4 in) tall; the body sits in the shell bowl, the head, snout, spikes, tail and arms are sewn on, with safety eyes. Follow the row-by-row pattern with stitch counts and turn the interactive 3D model to check every piece.

1 sc ≈ 4 mm wide, 1 round ≈ 3.6 mm tall (10 cm ≈ 25 sc × 28 rounds); yarn about 1.9 mm thick. The gauge sets the size of the toy; crochet tightly so the stuffing does not show.
Continuous spiral rounds. Don't join. Move a stitch marker up every round.
Safety eyes and noses go in before the piece is stuffed and closed (see the pieces above); embroidery is easier before the piece is sewn on.
