A free crochet stegosaurus pattern for a round orange dinosaur on four sturdy legs, with a row of padded green plates along its back. This amigurumi stegosaurus has a light yellow tummy and muzzle, cream spikes on the tip of its tail, tiny cream toenails and a sweet smile under big shiny eyes. It is worked in the round in single crochet with DK yarn and a 2.5 mm hook, the plates are lightly stuffed and pressed flat, and with 12 mm safety eyes it ends up about 12 cm (5 in) tall and 20 cm (8 in) long. Follow it row by row with stitch counts and use the interactive 3D model to check where every plate goes.

1 sc ≈ 4 mm wide, 1 round ≈ 3.6 mm tall (10 cm ≈ 25 sc × 28 rounds); yarn about 1.9 mm thick. The gauge sets the size of the toy; crochet tightly so the stuffing does not show.
Continuous spiral rounds. Don't join. Move a stitch marker up every round.
Safety eyes and noses go in before the piece is stuffed and closed (see the pieces above); embroidery is easier before the piece is sewn on.
