Realistic Tabby Cat

Safety eyes and noses go in before the piece is stuffed and closed (see the pieces above); embroidery is easier before the piece is sewn on.

• Safety eyes with a printed glint 10 mm (on the head): between rounds 9 and 10, 8 st apart (count along round 9: about 4 st each side of the centre front line). Iris moss green #8fa85e.
• Satin stitch (on the muzzle): in rose brown thread, a triangle about 6 mm wide and 4.5 mm tall, horizontal stitches; centred in round 1, on the centre top line .
• Embroidery in dark tabby thread (on the muzzle), straight stitches through: (between rounds 1 and 2, on the centre bottom line ) → (between rounds 2 and 3, on the centre bottom line ).
• Embroidery in dark tabby thread (on the muzzle) (2, symmetric: the toy's left side is described, the right is its mirror image), straight stitches through: (between rounds 2 and 3, on the centre bottom line ) → (in round 3, 1 st from the centre bottom line, toward the toy's left ) → (in round 3, 1.5 st from the centre bottom line, toward the toy's left ).
• Satin stitch (on the head): in dark tabby thread, a oval about 2.2 mm wide and 6 mm tall, horizontal stitches; centred in round 4, on the centre front line .
• Satin stitch (on the head) (2, symmetric: the toy's left side is described, the right is its mirror image): in dark tabby thread, a oval about 2.2 mm wide and 5.5 mm tall, horizontal stitches, turned 10° clockwise (looking at that surface); centred between rounds 4 and 5, 0.5 st from the centre front line, toward the toy's left .
• Embroidery in dark tabby thread (on the front leg) (2: one on each front leg; the left one is described, the right is its mirror), straight stitches through: (between rounds 1 and 2, 0.5 st from the centre front line, toward the toy's left ) → (in round 3, 1 st from the centre front line, toward the toy's left ).
• Embroidery in dark tabby thread (on the front leg) (2: one on each front leg; the left one is described, the right is its mirror), straight stitches through: (between rounds 1 and 2, 0.5 st from the centre front line, toward the toy's right ) → (in round 3, 1 st from the centre front line, toward the toy's right ).
