A free crochet owl pattern for a round brown owl with big amber eyes set in cream eye discs and two little ear tufts. This amigurumi owl has a cream belly with rows of tan feather scallops, dark brown wings hugging its sides, an orange beak and tiny orange feet, a cozy pick for fall and Halloween. It is about 9.5 cm (3.75 in) tall in DK yarn with a 2.5 mm hook: the body is one piece worked in the round in single crochet, the eye discs and scallops are small flat motifs sewn on, and the eyes are 14 mm safety eyes. The page gives the row-by-row pattern with stitch counts and an interactive 3D model to check where every piece goes.

1 sc ≈ 4 mm wide, 1 round ≈ 3.6 mm tall (10 cm ≈ 25 sc × 28 rounds); yarn about 1.9 mm thick. The gauge sets the size of the toy; crochet tightly so the stuffing does not show.
Continuous spiral rounds. Don't join. Move a stitch marker up every round.
Safety eyes and noses go in before the piece is stuffed and closed (see the pieces above); embroidery is easier before the piece is sewn on.
