A free amigurumi pattern for crochet Christmas ornaments: a round teal owl bauble in a little red-and-white knit hat. This owl ornament has big ivory eye discs, a tiny orange beak, cream feather scallops on the tummy and two snug wings, with a golden ring on top for hanging on the tree. It is worked in the round in single crochet with fingering yarn and a 2 mm hook, uses safety or embroidered eyes, and stands about 7.5 cm (3 in) tall with the loop. The page gives you a row-by-row pattern with stitch counts and an interactive 3D model to check every piece before it goes on the tree.

1 sc ≈ 3 mm wide, 1 round ≈ 2.7 mm tall (10 cm ≈ 33 sc × 37 rounds); yarn about 1.4 mm thick. The gauge sets the size of the toy; crochet tightly so the stuffing does not show.
Continuous spiral rounds. Don't join. Move a stitch marker up every round.
Safety eyes and noses go in before the piece is stuffed and closed (see the pieces above); embroidery is easier before the piece is sewn on.
