Safety eyes and noses go in before the piece is stuffed and closed (see the pieces above); embroidery is easier before the piece is sewn on.

• Safety eyes with a printed glint 10–12 mm (on the mama head): in round 12, 8 st apart (count along round 12: about 3.9 st each side of the centre front line). Iris green #8fc46a.
• Satin stitch (on the muzzle): in rose thread, a triangle about 6 mm wide and 4.5 mm tall, horizontal stitches; centred between rounds 1 and 2, on the centre top line .
• Embroidery in brown thread (on the muzzle), straight stitches through: (in round 1, on the centre bottom line ) → (in round 2, on the centre bottom line ).
• Embroidery in brown thread (on the muzzle) (2, symmetric: the toy's left side is described, the right is its mirror image), straight stitches through: (in round 2, on the centre bottom line ) → (in round 3, 1 st from the centre bottom line, toward the toy's left ) → (between rounds 2 and 3, 1.5 st from the centre bottom line, toward the toy's left ).
• Safety eyes with a printed glint 6 mm (on the kitten): in round 7, 5 st apart (count along round 7: about 2.5 st each side of the centre front line).
• Satin stitch (on the kitten): in rose thread, a triangle about 3.4 mm wide and 2.6 mm tall, horizontal stitches; centred in round 6, on the centre front line .
• Embroidery in brown thread (on the kitten), straight stitches through: (between rounds 5 and 6, on the centre front line ) → (in round 5, 0.5 st from the centre front line, toward the toy's right ) → (in round 5, 1 st from the centre front line, toward the toy's right ).
• Embroidery in brown thread (on the kitten), straight stitches through: (between rounds 5 and 6, on the centre front line ) → (in round 5, 0.5 st from the centre front line, toward the toy's left ) → (in round 5, 1 st from the centre front line, toward the toy's left ).
