Cat Mochi Ball

Safety eyes and noses go in before the piece is stuffed and closed (see the pieces above); embroidery is easier before the piece is sewn on.

• Safety eyes with a printed glint 9 mm (on the mochi body): between rounds 14 and 15, 9 st apart (count along round 14: about 4.6 st each side of the centre front line).
• Satin stitch (on the mochi body): in rose pink thread, a triangle about 5 mm wide and 3.6 mm tall, horizontal stitches; centred in round 13, on the centre front line.
• Embroidery in dark rose thread (on the mochi body), straight stitches through: (between rounds 12 and 13, on the centre front line) → (in round 12, 0.5 st from the centre front line, toward the toy's right ) → (in round 12, 1 st from the centre front line, toward the toy's right ).
• Embroidery in dark rose thread (on the mochi body), straight stitches through: (between rounds 12 and 13, on the centre front line) → (in round 12, 0.5 st from the centre front line, toward the toy's left ) → (in round 12, 1 st from the centre front line, toward the toy's left ).
• Blush about 11 mm, dry pastel or blush (on the mochi body, both sides): in round 12, 7 st from the centre front line, toward the toy's left. Colour blush pink.
