A free crochet whale pattern for a round blue whale with a striped belly, a wide happy smile and a curly water spout on top. This amigurumi whale is deep blue with a sky-and-white striped belly, small flippers, a tail fluke raised behind and three aqua water curls fountaining from its head. The body is worked from the bottom up in the round in single crochet with DK yarn and a 2.5 mm hook, with color changes for the stripes, 14 mm safety eyes and sewn-on fins and spout; it is about 10.5 cm (4 in) tall and 15 cm (6 in) wide. Follow the row-by-row pattern with stitch counts and turn the interactive 3D model to check every piece.

1 sc ≈ 4 mm wide, 1 round ≈ 3.6 mm tall (10 cm ≈ 25 sc × 28 rounds); yarn about 1.9 mm thick. The gauge sets the size of the toy; crochet tightly so the stuffing does not show.
Continuous spiral rounds. Don't join. Move a stitch marker up every round.
Safety eyes and noses go in before the piece is stuffed and closed (see the pieces above); embroidery is easier before the piece is sewn on.
